Bell towers

On the territory of Russia, there were tower clocks on the bell towers of almost all architectural styles. In Rus’, tower clocks were also installed on wooden bell towers and on pillar-shaped towers. It is conditionally possible to single out the most common pillar bell towers with tower clocks:

The pillar bell towers are hexagonal, the pillar bell towers are octahedral, the pillar bell towers are nine-sided, the pillar bell towers are refectory.

Also, tower clocks were installed on belfries, clock bells (chasozvonya), gate churches. Hip bell towers became very common church objects with tower clocks in pre-Petrine times:

Octagonal hipped bell towers and octagonal hipped bell towers on a quadrangle.

Tower clocks in Russia were most widespread in the 18th and 19th centuries, and most of them were installed on bell towers of such architectural styles as: Baroque, Empire, Classicism, Eclecticism, Naryshkin and Gothic.

Many bell towers had a mixed style, and each of these bell towers was rightfully considered or is considered to be a unique architectural monument. Many bell towers that have already been restored and are still being restored, which previously had tower clocks, are also equipped with dials, but more often, more accurate electric drives are installed instead of the mechanism.
